Our Conductor

Olev Viro

A member of the Columbus Symphony since 1984, Olev Viro is

active as both a violinist and conductor.

In addition to the CSO,

olev performs regularly with Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra, and the New Albany Symphony.

Maestro Viro has been the Music Director of the Greater Columbus Community Orchestra since 1999.

Under his guidance, the orchestra has commissioned and premiered numerous works, and continued its mission of developing awareness of orchestral music in Central Ohio.

Olev has served on the faculty of Capital, Otterbein and Denison Universities, and is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of music.
